Bokutani is a peer-reviewed, multidisciplinary journal published by the African Studies Association of Africa (ASAA). It is dedicated to advancing African perspectives on Africa and the world by promoting research that is theoretically innovative, methodologically plural, and intellectually grounded in African realities.

Bokutani is more than a scholarly platform—it is a space of epistemic justice, committed to nurturing new voices, amplifying diasporic and continental intellectual contributions, and offering content in both written and oral formats. The journal is published annually and is fully open-access.
